Enrolling Your Child

Choosing a school for you and your child is an important decision. At Windy Ridge Primary enrolments are restricted by our enrolment zone. If you are living in zone you are welcome to complete an online enrolment application form. Once your application has been submitted, our Enrolments Officer will contact you to arrange a school visit and tour with one of our school leaders.

Open Mornings

We invite prospective families to attend one of our open mornings which we hold twice each term. You and your child will get to meet our Principal, Samantha Owen, who will take you on a school tour. This is a great opportunity for you to observe our wonderful school in action and ask questions. Please email Suzanne Boyce at office@windyridge.school.nz to make a booking

When you are ready to enrol your child, Mrs Suzanne Boyce and Mrs Carmen Yiu will assist you to complete the paperwork formalities.

In Zone Enrolment Information

You can check if you live in our zone by visiting this website and entering your home address. In zone parents are invited to contact the school office to arrange an appointment to meet with a member of the school leadership team to discuss enrolment of their child /children. Parents are required to provide the child’s birth certificate to confirm status for enrolment in a state school. We also ask for proof of address in the form of a recent gas or electricity bill.

The enrolment zone is:

  • Starting at Kaipatiki Road head north east along the middle of the road (124 & below included) to Glenfield Road.

  • Travel south on Glenfield Road and head west along the middle of the road (432-272 included) to Domain Road.

  • Head north west across country along the Scenic Reserve boundary and back to the starting point.

All residential addresses on included sides of boundary roads and all no exit roads off included sides of boundary roads are included in the zone unless otherwise stated.

Enrolment of Out of Zone students

If you wish to make a ballot application please email the school office office@windyridge.school.nz for an application form and to arrange an appointment time for a visit.

The Board of Trustees will consider applications if they have identified vacancies and the applicants meet the criteria of priorities 1 to 6 as per below:

Priority Criteria

  1. Students who meet the criteria for enrolment in an approved special programme run by the school –  Not currently applicable at Windy Ridge School.

  2. Siblings of current students

  3. Siblings of former students

  4. Children of former students of the school

  5. Children of Board employees/children of a Board member

  6. All other students
