Welcome to Week 8
News from the Tumuaki / Principal
Kia ora e te whānau,
As the term comes to an end, we prepare to farewell Caroline Andrews, who has been an integral part of our Windy Ridge whānau for ten years. Caroline has worked throughout the school over her years, with many of them being within our junior and middle teams. Most recently, Caroline has supported our tamariki with targeted Structured Literacy support and has worked in the Kōtare Team. We will miss Caroline's kind and calm nature, the wealth of knowledge she brings to teaching, and her support. As a staff, we will be farewelling Caroline at the end of the term. Caroline has asked for a quiet farewell; however, I am sure you will all join us in thanking Caroline and wishing her the very best as she spends more time with her whānau.

Community Connections
Today, our Gardening and Enviro Team joined forces with Glenfield Kindy to prepare their gardens for some Matariki planting on Friday. Supported by Mrs Brown, the team helped the tamariki from Glenfield Kindy dig holes ready for planting. This was a great way for our kura and tamariki to connect with our local community and share some of their knowledge and skills.
Matariki Breakfast
On Thursday, 27th June, we will host a Matariki breakfast from 7:30 a.m. in the school hall. Come along and celebrate with us as we welcome the Māori New Year, sharing hopes and aspirations for the year ahead. Our Kapa Haka will welcome everyone at 7:30 a.m., followed by the sharing of kai (food). There will be a coffee cart on site please feel free to purchase a coffee or hot drink and all breakfast kai is kindly donated by our wonderful PTA.
Student-Led conferences
On Wednesday, 3rd July, we will be holding our student-led conferences. This is a great time to talk with your child's teacher and your child about their learning and progress, celebrate their achievements, and discuss their next steps. These meetings are led by your child and supported by their teacher. Bookings will be open on Hero starting tomorrow morning. You will receive a notification via Hero tomorrow morning explaining how you can make a booking. Get in early and select a time that suits you.
