Dear families,
Walking school buses are a great way for your kids to travel to school in the morning with their friends and peers, and adult supervision to keep them safe. It’s fun, free and everyone gets some exercise.

Would you like your child to join a Walking School Bus? Are you able to commit to at least one day a week to run the Walking School Bus? We need adults to support us. Please contact Jane Brown if you are able to assist with supervision on any of the below routes.

Route A (Redfern Lane)

Route B (Embassy Place)

Route C (Roberts Road)

Route D (feeder route to Roberts Road)

Whether you live near the coast, volunteer on the coast or you are a regular visitor to your local beach, Auckland Council wants to hear your thoughts on a proposed Shoreline Adaptation Plan to manage council-owned coastal land and assets in the future.

Have your say about how public facilities, parks and other assets on or near the coast in your area should be managed in the face of threats such as climate change and coastal hazards.

Can you spread the word about the opportunities to take part in this consultation to your network?

Consultation about the draft strategies for shoreline adaptation for the Weiti Estuary to Devonport Peninsula is open now, until Thursday 26 September. You can read the draft strategy document here. You can give your feedback here on the AK Have Your Say website or see below for local events to attend where you can learn more and have your say.

We’re from Kaipātiki Project, an established charity in the community and environmental space and we’re working alongside Auckland Council to help gather feedback from local people about the Shoreline Adaptation Plan for their area.

We’ll be at upcoming events in your area, where you can look at maps, review draft adaptation strategies and tell Auckland Council what you think of these, as well as what you value about your local beach.
