Week 3
News from the Tumuaki / Principal
Kia ora e te whānau,
This week we have been celebrating Book Week, with the tamariki and kaiako (teachers) all sharing their favourite picture and chapter books. It has been wonderful to hear the children talking about stories, giving us all additional insight into our tamariki's interests and passions. On Thursday, we further celebrated with a character parade where we saw Little Red Riding Hoods, Wimpy Kids, Hungry Caterpillars, Harry Potters, and many more characters. Our Scholastic Book Fair was also a success. Thank you to our parent volunteers and to everyone who purchased books and stationery.
Student Leaders
On Tuesday, our Year 5 tamariki trained with Constable Louise to become future road patrollers and Travelwise Leaders. The tamariki took their training seriously and are now ready to join our current road patrollers on duty.
This is a friendly reminder to be mindful when driving around the local area and through the school crossing. Please slow down and stop to allow our road patrollers to cross our tamariki and whānau safely. Please also do not park on the broken yellow lines, over driveways or in the bus stops, this can result in a ticket issued by law enforcement. It is important that we keep everyone safe.
Assembly
As part of the Tūī assembly, we will farewell Mr. Ash and wish him all the best for his adventures. We will also be joined by Paul Glover from Ray White Carpenter Realty as he generously donates $5000 to our school. For any house Paul sells in our school zone, he makes a donation to the school. This partnership will provide more opportunities for our tamariki, and we thank Paul for his continued commitment. We welcome you all to join our assembly.
Coffee Cart
On Friday, we will have a coffee cart outside the hall selling coffee and hot chocolates before our Tūī assembly. Hot drinks will be available to purchase from 8:30 am. This is a great way to come together as a community to catch up with friends, make new friends, and celebrate our tamariki.
Looking ahead...
