Footy on the Field
As part of National Play Outside Week, the children enjoyed playing football out on the field on Tuesday with Chris from M-Sport Footy. Great excitement was had by all as the inflatable pitch appeared in the morning and the children were able to improve their general ball and soccer skills. For those interested in developing their football skills further, Chris is offering 5 sessions on the fields starting 17 November (3:10-3:55 pm): $64 per child with extra siblings for $32. Junky Monkeys
A reminder that Junky Monkeys will be coming into school on December 9 to work with the children on a loose parts play day. The children will be able to use the equipment and loose parts to design, make and create to the max. We are hoping that parents who are able to will be able to join us to see and learn more about how Play-based learning operates. Please let either Mrs Tyler (Piwakawaka), Mrs Hall (Kōtare Iti) or Mrs Henderson (Kōtare Nui) know if you are able to come along to support and learn more about our Learning Through Play.
- Pīwakawaka session: 9:00-10:30 am
- Kōtare Iti session: 11:00-12:30 pm
- Kōtare Nui session: 1:30-3:00 pm
Planning for 2023
Can you please let the office office@windyridge.school.nz know if you aren’t returning in February? We are deep in planning our placements for 2023 and need to have definitive numbers.
New Shade Sails outside the Hive
We have reopened the steps and seating area outside the Hive since the new Shade Sails have been installed. We hope that parents and
tamariki will enjoy being able to take advantage of this improved area of the school throughout the summer.
Enjoy the rest of your week, everyone.
Ka kite anō au i a koutou.

Sun Hats
As we have done in the past, and as we move into summer we ask that Tamariki have a hat to wear when outside while at school during Term 4 to offer protection from the sun.
School Hours
Please remember that the school hours are 8.30am to 3pm. Please remind your children that if you drop them off before this time they are expected to wait in the shelter area. The very earliest that they can be dropped off is 8.00 am. Any earlier and they will be taken to the Skids Before School programme and parents will be invoiced. This is a health and safety issue. Also, we are having some concerning issues with students playing on the front footpath and road areas during unsupervised times. This is also a health and safety issue. We would not want to see any of our students harmed in any way.
Road Patrol
We have a new roster starting this week. However, we are very short of parent supervision. Anybody can be an adult supervisor and it only requires 20 minutes of your time, either in the morning or the afternoon. Training will be provided. Please contact Jane Brown jbrown@windyridge.school.nz or Jenine Maxwell jmaxwell@windyridge.school.nz
