The End of a Great Term
As we go into the mid-winter break, it is time for us to celebrate another term’s learning, and what a term we have had! Apart from the amazing work that I have seen around school with the children’s reading, writing, and maths, we have enjoyed Junky Monkey days developing our creative and technological skills and worked together in our Matariki PINs programme. From a cultural perspective, Matariki was this term’s highlight, with our whānau and community celebrating with us to welcome in the new Māori year. What a great morning we had with Matua Danny Watson leading our blessing and karakia complemented by our Kapa Haka performance. This term has seen our extra-curricular groups running at full strength with Choir and Glee club being introduced. We have enjoyed 2 parent information evenings about Structured Literacy, led by Jude Tabuteau, and Real-time Reporting led by myself. And to round our term off, the Kōtare Nui’s were entertained by the Glenfield Intermediate Road Show this morning and we celebrated our achievements at an assembly this afternoon.
PTA
We’d like to say a big thank you to our dedicated and hard-working PTA led by Kieren. This term they have led another magnificent Chocolate fundraiser, raising in excess of $5,000. Thank you to everyone who sold boxes to raise money for our school. A special word of congratulations goes to Maxwell M, Gospel L, and Caleb W who between them sold more than 25 boxes.
The amazing work of the PTA doesn’t stop in the holidays, with a fundraising sausage sizzle planned for Sunday 25 July outside Bunnings Glenfield. If you are in the area please come along and support the event.
We are always looking for additional parents to join the PTA, the work they do is vital for providing additional support for our school. Fundraisers directly contribute to what our school is able to offer to our children. So, if you have some free time please consider joining us.
Term 3 Powhiri
We will be holding our Term 3 Powhiri on the first day of term, starting at 9:00 am at the Learning Hive. We will welcome new students and whānau to our school. The Kapa Haka will perform.
I wish everyone a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
Keep warm and dry and stay well everyone,
Ka kite anō au i a koutou.

Have Your Say
Like many other schools, we use the services of School Docs who design policies for many New Zealand schools; updating them to reflect current legislation. Periodically parents are asked to review certain policies. This month parents are invited to have their say around the Reporting to Parents on Student Progress and Achievement. - Visit the website https://windyridge.schooldocs.co.nz/1893.htm
- Enter the username (windyridge) and password (WRS0629).
- Follow the link to the relevant policy as listed.
- Read the policy.
- Click the Policy Review button at the top right-hand corner of the page.
- Select the reviewer type “Parent”.
- Enter your name (optional).
- Submit your ratings and comments.
- If you don’t have internet access, school office staff can provide you with printed copies of the policy and a review form.

No, the school will not exclude your child or ask you to keep them at home because they have lice. You don’t need to keep your child at home while you’re treating lice either.
