News from the Principal

Change is the only constant in our lives
This message is important for all of our students as we approach the end of the school year.  Some of our children will be leaving us for new schools, and the others will be changing class, teacher or team.  Our message to them is that while things change much of what is familiar remains, and to identify all the things that will be the same.  The familiar brings comfort.
It is important that we help our children to feel comfortable with change, as it is something we all face throughout our lives.  Sometimes we have control of that change, and other times we don’t.
It is important to talk with your child.  Finding ways to focus on the positives rather than worries can be useful; choosing new stationery for the new room, or setting up some play-dates with children from the new room before school starts back, writing a letter to the new teacher together to let them know what your child is good at and enjoys doing.
We know some children are more anxious than others, and parents are generally very good at knowing what level of support their child needs.  We encourage you to have a conversation about new starts and how we can make them work for us, offering us new opportunities and adventures.
Helpers Morning Tea
Every year we offer a huge range of extra events, activities or opportunities to our students.  Most of these could not be offered without the amazing support of a fantastic group of volunteers.
These include our road patrol parents, sports coaches and managers, reading tutors, trip helpers, PMP parents, and so the list goes on!
If you have offered support by volunteering in our school this year we would like to invite you to a special morning to tea to say thank you.
