News from the Principal

End of Term 1 holidays

Congratulations to everyone on a very successful term.  We have had a busy time with every team involved in trips and events, and there are already more planned for next term.  Please spend sometime in the holidays looking over the team information and resources on the school website in the password protected section “Online News”.  Teams have been loading resources and links that can be used at home to support home learning or holiday activities (if the weather continues to be challenging!).

Teachers and staff will be in and out of school over the holidays, but will not be here regularly so please do not send unattended children to the school to play over the break.  We encourage families to make use of the grounds and keep an eye on our school, but it is important that an adult supervises any children in the grounds during this time.

If you see any behaviour that is suspicious or concerning please phone 111 and ask for Police, particularly if it is occurring in front of you.  If you need to report damage you can look out for Mr Walton who will be around for some of the day, or alternatively please email the school and one of us will be pick up the message and check it out.

Reporting to Families

Tomorrow most children will bring home a report;  Year 4-6 will b ring home their term 1 data report and some of our Year 1-3 students will bring home their anniversary progress or achievement report. There is a letter enclosed with the report to explain the purpose of the specific report.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns about the information please make contact with your child’s class teacher in the first instance.

The 13-Storey Treehouse

*Please check website for exact times of this show*

Auckland audiences will have the chance to experience the stage adaptation of THE 13-STOREY TREEHOUSE, Andy Griffiths’ and Terry Denton’s best-selling children’s book, when it plays at the Bruce Mason Centre from 18 to 22 April 2017 as part of its premiere touring season of New Zealand.

Who wouldn’t want to live in a treehouse? Especially a 13-Storey Treehouse that has everything, including a bowling alley, a secret underground laboratory, self-making beds, a vegetable vaporiser and a marshmallow machine that shoots marshmallows into your mouth whenever you’re hungry.  Andy and Terry live there, create stories together and have a series of completely nutty adventures.

“It’s got the same feeling as the book, which is all the fun of inventing things and creating them and then them going out of control” says author Andy Griffiths, who has won over 50 children’s choice awards and been on the New York Times bestseller list. “There’s a lot of joy and fun.”
