Supporting our Community – Gutter Kitties and local SPCA

“It does not matter if an animal is old, unsocialised, blind, deaf, traumatized or has a treatable illness. All of these animals are worthy of our compassion, all of them can find homes, and all of them deserve to.”  We are collecting cans of cat food to support these important charities.  Please send your donations of animal food or old towels to the office.

Spring Walkers Week
The news might have traveled to you by now – yes it is “Spring Walkers Week”. The weather gods want to test us with their specially assembled bouquet of rain, wind, more rain and a pinch of sunshine. Let’s celebrate all our walking, biking and scooting children and their parents who have been showing hardiness and dealt with the elements. Please support your child in collecting a leaf at the school gate from the Travelwise Student team. Leaves need to be hung on the Travelwise Tree in the school hall entry area. The Travelwise Team will choose some leaves and these will win small prizes.
Please remember that by walking, biking and scooting with your child you help ease the congestion in the school area, especially around the school gates. Thank you for helping to keep all our children safe.
Wheels Day Friday – Children are welcome to bring their scooters, bikes, skateboards, wheelies for a fun lunchtime Wheels day event this week.  They need to also have closed shoes and a helmet. Only those children with a bike licence can ride their bikes to and from school without an adult supervising.

Lego Christmas Tree
CHRISTMAS JUST GOT BIGGER!
Taller than a two-storey house and built from over half a million LEGO bricks, the LEGO Christmas Tree  will land in Auckland on 25 November to light up Aotea Square until 27 December.

Designed and built specially for kiwi LEGO fans, the jaw-dropping giant LEGO Christmas Tree stands over 10 metres tall, weighs 3.5 tonnes and took more than 1,200 hours to build.

Decorated with some distinctly kiwi-themed festive additions including a life-size Santa with a surfboard, a pukeko and a kiwi, the massive tree will come to life each evening at Aotea Square from 7 pm onwards with a spectacular light and sound show.

While you’re there pick up a copy of the Auckland Live Summer in the Squarebrochure. Packed full of FREE summer entertainment, activities and events happening from December to February, it’s your one-stop guide to summer fun.

With support from Auckland Council, LEGO, Heart of The City, The Hits and The New Zealand Herald.

See you there!
