Windy Ridge School had a visit from Bobby and Brian. They explained to us how much sense it makes to wear a seat belt.

We learnt that the seat belt prevents the second crash – sounds interesting doesn’t it ?

Scientists believe that if everyone wore their safety belts 25 lives could be saved from road crashes each year in New Zealand. That’s just about one entire school class of people who would still be alive after car crashes.

Brian informed us that all children under the age of 7 need to sit in a booster seat. That is the law in New Zealand. But even after children

turn 7, they might still be safer in a  booster seat if they are not 148 cm tall.

It is safer to wait till your 148!
