Mission Statement

The school’s Mission Statement along with the ‘Four Trunks’ provide strong roots and a structure that will encourage our students’ talents to bloom.  We have used our logo shown above as the inspiration for this visual representation. 

Our Mission Statement is: Striving for excellence while valuing effort.  

Our school and community feel that this statement promotes and recognises the importance of the high expectations and achievement the school promotes in academic areas, as well in other domains such as the Arts, Sport, Cultural, and Socially, while also appreciating the effort needed when learning and participating.  Underpinning this Mission Statement is our ‘Four Trunks’ of Inquiry, Inclusiveness, Enviroschool, and Community Partnerships.

 Inquiry  at Windy Ridge is… developing in students a creative, flexible and critical disposition through questioning, researching and reflecting in co-operative and collaborative ways to reach a new or deeper understanding that relates to their lives and the world around them. 

Inclusiveness at Windy Ridge means providing a supportive environment that values a diverse community of life-long learners by actively promoting mutual respect for each other.

 By being an Enviro school we are all helping to care, protect and improve our surroundings by facilitating an awareness of how we can effectively contribute and manage the sustainability of our world for future generations. 

Community Partnership at Windy Ridge encourages meaningful communication that engages the support of families, whanau and communities to develop and implement a shared vision that provides effective learning opportunities for learners.
