News from the Principal

We are sad to announce that our Mr K (John Keoghan) will be moving at the end of the year.  He has been offered a position at his local school. This move means less time spent travelling each day and the opportunity to be at the same school as his own children, a positive improvement in his work/life balance.  We are obviously sad to be losing him but wish him well, and the family all the very best with the imminent arrival of Baby #3.  Thank you Mr K for being part of our team – we will miss you.
Policy Review
We have a new online database for our school policies, and this allows us to gather community ideas and opinions more efficiently in our review process. This term we are looking at two policies that we would appreciate your feedback on – Sun Protection and Education Outside the Classroom (EOTC).  The review is current for the next 5 weeks.

In order to participate in the review, please follow the following instructions:

  1. Visit the website
  2. Enter the username (windyridge) and password (WRS0629).
  3. Follow the link to the relevant policy as listed.
  4. Read the policy.
  5. Click the Policy Review button at the top right-hand corner of the page.
  6. Select the reviewer type “Parent”.
  7. Enter your name (optional).
  8. Submit your ratings and comments.

If you don’t have internet access, school office staff can provide you with printed copies of the policy and a review form.                   Thanks in advance for any feedback provided.

Lego Christmas Tree
Taller than a two-storey house and built from over half a million LEGO bricks, the LEGO Christmas Tree  will land in Auckland on 25 November to light up Aotea Square until 27 December.

Designed and built specially for kiwi LEGO fans, the jaw-dropping giant LEGO Christmas Tree stands over 10 metres tall, weighs 3.5 tonnes and took more than 1,200 hours to build.

Decorated with some distinctly kiwi-themed festive additions including a life-size Santa with a surfboard, a pukeko and a kiwi, the massive tree will come to life each evening at Aotea Square from 7 pm onwards with a spectacular light and sound show.

While you’re there pick up a copy of the Auckland Live Summer in the Squarebrochure. Packed full of FREE summer entertainment, activities and events happening from December to February, it’s your one-stop guide to summer fun.

With support from Auckland Council, LEGO, Heart of The City, The Hits and The New Zealand Herald.

See you there!
